I've used a Laptop with Debian Wheezy on it. After installing Ubuntu 12.04.3 and following the same steps as with the previous versions of Ubuntu on this laptop, I managed to install Navigon 775 Build 447 For Wince on it. The problem is that I'm now unable to update my Navigon software because the "connect to a mobile network" step says that my device is unable to connect to the Navigon servers.
The reason for this is that I don't have a SIM card in my Wince so I can't actually try to connect. The laptop also has no other Wi-Fi network to connect to.
I did have a previous version of Ubuntu on this laptop, but the upgrade failed at some point. I can only remember that something about the system broke during that upgrade. I'm not entirely sure what caused the problem, but it probably has something to do with my WIFI card (this laptop has an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205, which in Wince is named "wireless network controller").
I'm also not really sure how to install the previous versions of the Navigon software (the previous one was from Ubuntu 9.10 and I can't even find a link for the.deb files for that version of Navigon).
I have tried to get my hands on any Windows Device Manager utilities, but I'm unable to find the Windows Device Manager on my laptop because it isn't there. It's also missing the "Device Manager" link on the "Start" menu.
So, in short, I need to find a way to update the software in order to make it work, but how to do so on a Wince device is something that I have no idea about.
Thanks for your reply. I did notice that there was a new version of Wince available, but it didn't come with any updates for the Navigon software.
There are some guides on how to install Navigon on a Wince (e.g. ), but they are more about how to get the Navigon software to work on a Windows device than how to get Navigon to work on a Wince device.
