This is for all those who have sent me messages on FB.
This is what I told them. They think if they reply back that I am going to get angry and try to get them to submit their I140 without their lawyer. But I am not going to let them know that I am going to do this.
Ok so here is the deal. You can submit the I-485 with an attorney and we can pay for the lawyer. You just need to have a lawyer (not any random lawyer) who specializes in your case, so please read up on what is involved for the I-485. My lawyer is in Delray and can come down to Fort Lauderdale.
I know you are all in a hurry to file and get your green card and we are all in the same boat. But this is the worst way to do it because in order to file I-485 with an attorney you need to pay them an application fee (which is not refundable after its paid) and then pay for the attorney. You can do it without a lawyer, but it will be way more complicated and not as straightforward.
I will be helping you with this and paying for the lawyer. But I cannot have you pay for anything unless I pay for it first. Once the I-485 is done it can be revoked and you will be in the same position as all of us and have to start the entire process over again.
I have a friend who has an approved I-140 and that is what he is using. But I think in this case I should use my spouse because she has an approved I-140 and a pending petition. So we will probably be having a joint I-485.
Whatever you do, don't do it online! I can't stress this enough. Use a lawyer and wait until you are approved to submit the I-485 and do it electronically.
