In the same way other HUD elements (Gauges, Power meters, Radar, etc...) are no longer visible until zoomed in to the extreme. I understand that it is hard to maintain a proper HUD at 16:9 and 32:9 as I zoom, but at least we could have the HUD at the same size and still zoom out (and thus have a proper HUD at 16:9), or having a limited zoom on the HUD, or having double-height TURBO view at 32:9, or simply having the option to switch between the two views
Also, when zoomed out, some vehicles will have a blank area on the top of the HUD that is no longer visible. For example the 370T (turreted ATGM launcher) will have a blank spot on the top right corner of the HUD view. This is not a bug, it is a feature. It shows that the vehicle is equipped with a turret. But when zoomed out, this area stays black.
Also, the 360T is now the default ATGM launcher for ATGM players (their 360T remains unchanged). It is a great weapon for low tier ATGM players as it has a very high rate of fire and can be aimed accurately by activating the ATGM sighting system with a default zoom of 1.0.
The situation is even worse for the 360T (turreted ATGM launcher), because its muzzle is on the bottom-left corner of the HUD view. When zoomed out, this area stays black and not white like for the 370T. It looks like the 360T is equipped with a side-mounted system, that can be seen through the side windows of the 360T. This is not true, and the 360T is actually an ATGM launcher on the top of the vehicle.
If the main armament section is not available, it is advised to compare the zoom range to the turret or anything that can be easily identified. This can help determine what range of zoom this vehicle has and can be used when comparing tanks in the field.
Since the amount of information the optic will be able to display can vary greatly between vehicles, the zoom range for the optic is only a guide and should not be relied upon for the final shot.
